Scope of this policy
This policy covers services purchased from Books A Nation: editing, cover design, interior formatting, publishing setup, book marketing, ghostwriting, audiobook production, author website design and any other service quoted in writing. It works together with our Terms of Service and Publishing Standards. Nothing in it limits the rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
Before work starts
Work begins only after you approve an itemised written quote. Any deposit is stated on that quote. If you cancel before any work has started, the amount you have paid is refunded in full, less any third-party costs we have already incurred on your behalf at your request.
Cancelling a project in progress
You can cancel at any stage by emailing support@booksanation.com. Fees for stages that have been completed are retained, and any unused portion of fees you have prepaid is refunded. Work completed up to the point of cancellation is delivered to you in its current state, so nothing you have paid for is lost.
Third-party costs
Costs we pay to others on your behalf, such as stock image licences, ISBN purchases, printed proofs, narrator fees or advertising spend, are itemised in your quote and are not refundable once they have been incurred.
If we cannot complete the work
If Books A Nation is unable to complete a project for any reason on our side, the unused portion of your fees is refunded in full and all completed work is handed over to you.
Revisions and satisfaction
Each service includes the revision rounds listed on its page. If a deliverable does not match the agreed brief, we correct it at no charge. A change of mind about an approved brief or an approved concept is treated as new scope and is quoted before any further work starts.
How refunds are paid
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. When we confirm a refund we tell you in writing the date by which it will be sent.
